Counselling for Relationships
Couples counselling has the potential to restore an unhealthy relationship to its former glory.
If both parties are committed and willing to 'emotionally' listen to each other and do the work necessary to bring about some changes, then you can expect a more fulfilling and happier relationship.
I will not take sides when working with your relationship, but I will take a stand on any forms of abuse that may be operating within the room. It is not a counsellors' role to reinforce acts of disrespect or abuse.

Is This Your Relationship?
Are you feeling:
- Stuck, fearful and conflicted?
- You are repeating non-functional patterned behaviours?
- Not emotionally supported or listened to?
- A sense of shame and guilt?
Are you longing to have:
- New skills and perspectives?
- An improved relationship?
- Enhanced intimacy and sex?
- The sense you are being heard and understood?
- Deeper communication, closeness and friendship?
- The knowledge that you're loved?
How I Can Help
We aren’t taught how to conduct successful relationships.
Given that both partners bring unique qualities and cultural backgrounds to the relationship, it isn’t any surprise that difference and tensions arise.
Effective communication skills (active listening and emotionally supporting each other’s truths and emotions) go a long way to improving relationships.
Gaining these fundamental relationship skills often require coaching and practice, but once learned, provide the tools to resolve difference and conflict.
I can coach these skills in sessions so you can both talk safely about issues that are negatively impacting on your relationship, as well as celebrate the glory your relationship can also bring.
